About Me

Hi guys, and welcome! I started this blog as a way to keep a journal of my experiences working in youth ministry. Youth ministry work brings such joy to me, and I wanted a way to keep my thoughts and stories in one place so I can look back on them. I wanted to do a blog format so that I could share my experiences with others and maybe, hopefully, someone can learn something from them.

One thing you should know is that I am not a writer. It’s not my strong suit, so grammar nazis you have been warned. This blog is just a place for me to share my thoughts and experiences. Some of the posts will be short, some long. Others will be rambling, and sometimes I’ll actually put a few cohesive sentences together. But most importantly, is that it’s me. This is something I am really passionate about, so everything that I say is from the heart.

Shall we begin?… Awesome.

First, a little background about me. My name is Paul and I am a college student studying Information Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. I was born and raised in the neighboring town of Athens, Georgia. Y’know, Go Dawgs and all that… (I’m not really into sports.) Anyway, I moved to Atlanta after high school graduation, where I started attending a new church that I absolutely love, North Metro Church. This church has been an solid foundation for my life in Atlanta in navigating the waters of college, and living on my own, and bills, and working, and adulthood… you get the idea. Through the teachings of the pastors at this church, and the amazing small group that I’ve joined, I have experienced tremendous spiritual growth over the past two years and it has been quite a journey. I detail much of that growth in my first post In The Beginning.

During the past two years, I was called to work in youth ministry part time as a volunteer. I help lead a high school small group every Sunday night, which has quickly become my favorite part of the week.  I still find that to be quite comical, because two years ago, I never saw myself doing youth ministry. It’s pretty cool how God’s plan always works out to be better than our plan.

I hope you enjoy reading about my endeavors! If you want to contact me about anything just shoot me an email at losingyourmarbles@icloud.com

If you want to read about the story behind the name of the blog you can, here.
